If you have a modicum of talent at the computer, you can make your own medieval candy wrappers for your chocolate. You'll need:
  • 5" Hershey bars. Buy at Costco in bulk (Sam's Club, etc.). Any flavor, plain, Crackel, Almonds, etc. You could also use other size chocolates and experiment with the paper size.
  • Glue stick
  • Good quality paper (white or colored)
  • Paper cutter
  • Medieval clipart. Angels, cherubs, scrolls, figures, crowns, whatever turns you on. I have some I can share if you write or if you see any clipart on this site, you can lift it. I'll work on putting them online.
  • A nifty celtic font (click here to download below)
  • You'll need some software. I used Adobe PhotoShop and PageMaker, but you may be able to swing it in Word. I would create a table and drop in the graphics.

Remove and discard the Hershey wrapper and leave the gold or silver wrapper underneath. Print out the PDF wrapper file on the right. Cut out around the black line. You can then wrap it around the bar and glue it closed with a glue stick. Of course, this one has our names on it, but you can get the idea and use it as a form. The dimensions are 5.5" (L) x 5" (W).

If you have Adobe PageMaker, I'd be happy to send you my *.p65 files (v6.5). It's all done for you. Just change the names. Please write to request.

If you're not computer savvy, you can buy the wrappers in various places on the net. Here's one example from The Sweetest Memories or search for "medieval candy wrappers".
