Wedding Program and Love Poetry

Program Scroll. If you want to cut some costs and you're able to do a bit of word processing, this is very simple and looks professional. You'll need:

Good quality paper. Pick a sturdy weight, but not so thick as it won't roll. Chose a light colored background, like the beige on this page.
Celtic font (click here to download below)
Medieval/Renaissance clipart. Angels, cherubs, hearts, flowers, harps, you get the idea (click here to download ours below)
Ribbon for tying, in your wedding colors or gold and silver is good. We mixed them up with blue, green, gold and maroon.
Poetry. Lots and lots of poetry.
Desktop publishing program. I used Adobe Photoshop and PageMaker. You may be able to do this in Word.

I decided to put the program on one side and a love poem on the other. I played around with clipart and different designs until I came up with what you see above. After you finish your design, print the copy on your selected paper. This example has not been printed on paper.

I wanted each person to have a different poem. We had about 50 guests so I found 50 poems from romantic authors, mostly from the 13th to 17th century. I tried to stay away from 19th-20th century poetry, but I do have some by Elizabeth Barrett Browning and E.E. Cummings.

After you print them, roll them and tie with a ribbon. Place them in the gift bag. If you don't have a gift bag, you can tie a name card with the table number on to the scroll. Place them near the entrance, in alphabetical order by last name, so your guests can take one when they enter.

Poetry. This was a blast to do. However, it took me quite some time to compile 50 old world poems, a different one for each person. Lucky for you, I'm offering them to you at this very, very low price of... nothing! Help yourself. If you click the photo on the right, you'll launch a document (lovequote.doc) which contains 50 poems. I think all 50 are here. If not, write and I'll give you a PDF copy of our entire program, all 50 pages OR even better, I'll give you my *.p65 files (Adobe PageMaker v6.5) which has all the work done for you. Just swap out the names. Write me at the address below. When you view this file, you'll see it doesn't look anything like what you see in this picture which is a crop of the final product (pictured above). It's just a plain Word document (created in WordPad actually), typed in Arial 10pt. Each poem is listed one after the other, down the left margin, and I got a little sloppy with the formatting, so don't sue me. It's about 6 pages.	Click above to launch Word document of poems.
